We built Fablepath for kids, so we treat privacy with the utmost seriousness. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.

๐Ÿ“ฆ 1. What We Collect

Guest Users (No Account)

If you use Fablepath without creating an account, we collect nothing. No name, no email, no device ID, no IP address stored, no usage statistics. You are completely anonymous.

Guest mode is the default. No account is required to play free adventures. We designed it this way so children can use the app with zero data collection.

Account Users (Super Mode)

When you create an account to use Super Mode, we collect only what is necessary:

Adventure Content

Adventures are generated in real time. Story text and your child's choices are sent to our story server to generate the next chapter. This content is processed in real time and not stored by us beyond the active session. We do not include any personal information in story generation requests.

What We Explicitly Do NOT Collect

  • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV) for tracking purposes
  • Location data of any kind
  • Contacts, photos, or camera access
  • Microphone or audio (read-aloud is output only)
  • Browsing history or cross-app behaviour
  • Usage patterns for advertising purposes

๐Ÿ‘ถ 2. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

This section is the most important part of this policy. Fablepath is designed for children. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's Kids Category requirements.

For Children Using Guest Mode

Children using Fablepath in guest mode provide zero personal information. There is nothing to collect, share, or protect โ€” the child is completely anonymous.

For Children Using Super Mode

Super Mode requires a parent or guardian to sign in using their own Google or Apple account. We collect the parent's name and email โ€” not the child's. Children under 13 do not create their own accounts.

We do not:

  • Knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13
  • Require children to provide any personal information
  • Allow children to post or share content publicly
  • Use children's information for behavioural advertising
  • Share children's information with third parties for commercial purposes

Parental Rights Under COPPA

Parents and guardians have the right to review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@fablepath.app. We will respond within 5 business days.

๐ŸŽฏ 3. How We Use Information

We use account information solely to: create and maintain your account, verify and manage your Super Mode subscription, send service-related emails (receipts, account notices), fix bugs and improve app performance, and respond to support requests.

We never use your information to serve advertising, build profiles for commercial purposes, sell to data brokers, share with social media platforms, or send unsolicited marketing.

We use a minimal number of carefully vetted third-party services. Here is the complete list:

That is the complete list. No advertising SDKs. No analytics platforms (Firebase, Amplitude, etc.). No social SDKs. No data brokers. No hidden third parties.

๐Ÿ’พ 5. Data Storage & Security

  • Account data is stored on secure servers in the United States
  • All data transmission uses TLS encryption
  • Passwords are never stored โ€” we use OAuth (Google/Apple Sign-In) only
  • Adventure content is not stored beyond the active app session
  • Crash logs are retained for 30 days then deleted automatically

โš–๏ธ 6. Your Rights

All users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data at any time. Parents may request deletion of any information we hold about their child.

How to Delete Your Account

Email privacy@fablepath.app with the subject "Delete My Account." We will delete all your data within 30 days and confirm when complete. You can also delete your account directly in the app: Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete Account.

California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. California residents may request to know what information we have, have it deleted, or opt out of sale (though we don't sell data). Email privacy@fablepath.app to exercise these rights.

EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and the right to object. Email privacy@fablepath.app.

๐Ÿ’ณ 7. Subscriptions & Payments

Super Mode subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see, receive, or store your payment card details. To manage or cancel: iPhone Settings โ†’ your name โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ Fablepath โ†’ Cancel. Your access continues until the end of the billing period.

๐Ÿ“ 8. Changes to This Policy

We will notify account holders of material changes by email and via an in-app notice at least 30 days before changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
